Booking and Getting Started

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a Physiotherapist?

No. In Ontario you can book directly with a Physiotherapist without a referral. Some extended health plans ask for a doctor’s note before they will reimburse you, so check with your insurer if you plan to claim your visits.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online through Jane at any time, or call or text us at (705) 279-2759.

Not sure whether Physiotherapy is right for you?

Book a complimentary 15-minute discovery call with one of our Physiotherapists. It is a short online chat where you can ask questions and find out whether Physiotherapy is a good fit before you book an assessment.

What should I wear and bring to my first appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing that lets us see and move the area being assessed, such as shorts for a knee or hip problem or a tank top for a shoulder. Bring your extended health insurance details, a list of any medications, and any imaging reports or surgical notes that relate to your injury. Read more in what to expect at your first Physiotherapy appointment.

How long are appointments?

A new in-person Physiotherapy assessment is about 60 minutes. Follow-up treatments are about 30 minutes. Pelvic health assessments are about 60 minutes and follow-ups about 45 minutes. Massage therapy is available in 45, 60 and 90 minute sessions.

Is Physiotherapy covered by my insurance?

Most extended health benefit plans through work cover all or part of Physiotherapy and registered massage therapy. Coverage amounts differ between plans, so check your plan or call your insurer before your visit. We provide a receipt after every appointment for you to claim.

Do you direct bill to insurance?

Yes. We direct bill to Sun Life, Green Shield, Blue Cross, and the insurers below that accept claims through TELUS Health eClaims:

AGA Financial Group, Alberta Blue Cross, Belairdirect (formerly Johnson Inc.), Beneva, Benefit Plan Administrators (BPA), Canada Life (including PSHCP), Canadian Construction Workers Union, Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance, CINUP, ClaimSecure, Coughlin & Associates, Cowan, Desjardins Insurance, Equitable Life, First Canadian, GMS, GPM Group Benefits, GroupHEALTH, GroupSource, iA Financial Group (Industrial Alliance), Johnston Group, LiUNA Local 183, LiUNA Local 506, Manion, Manulife, Maximum Benefit, MDM Insurance Services, People Corporation, RWAM Insurance Administrators, Simply Benefits, TELUS AdjudiCare, Union Benefits, UV Insurance.

Is Physiotherapy covered after a car accident?

In Ontario, treatment after a motor vehicle accident is usually covered through your auto insurance accident benefits, separate from your work benefits. Contact your auto insurer as soon as you can after the accident to open a claim. Learn more about our motor vehicle accident and whiplash treatment. We bill your auto insurer directly, so bring your claim number and adjuster’s contact details to your first appointment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash and credit card.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Otherwise, a fee equal to the session rate will be billed to you.

Choosing the Right Treatment

Should I book Physiotherapy or massage therapy?

Book a Physiotherapy assessment if you have an injury, pain that limits what you can do, or you are recovering from surgery. A Physiotherapist will assess the cause and build a plan that can include exercise, hands-on treatment, dry needling (IMS) and shockwave therapy. Registered massage therapy is a good choice for muscle tension, general aches and recovery from training. If you are unsure, book a complimentary 15-minute discovery call or give us a call.

What is shockwave therapy, and do I need an assessment first?

Shockwave Therapy delivers strong energy pulses to injured tissues to treat certain stubborn tendon and soft tissue problems, such as plantar fasciitis and tendinopathies. A Physiotherapist will check that it is suitable for you first. If you are new to the clinic and only want shockwave, you can book a shockwave-only assessment. Read more about shockwave therapy in Barrie.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of muscle, joint and nerve problems, including back and neck pain, sports injuries, TMJ and jaw pain, headaches, shoulder and knee injuries, pelvic health concerns and rehabilitation after surgery. See the full list on our services page.
